In summer of 2016, Homayoun Yousefi'zadeh and Amr Albanna co-founded CellOnyx after conducting nearly two years of cutting-edge focused research at the University of California, Irvine.
Led by the co-founders, the innovative team of CellOnyx consists of driven scientists and engineers with decades of experience in cellular industry aided by executives of the same industry.
Dr. Yousefi'zadeh, CEO and Co-Founder of CellOnyx, has more than twenty years of entrepreneurial, hands-on, technical management, business development, and academic experience in different branches of the computer industry including video streaming, mobile ad-hoc, and cellular industries. In the recent past, he was a Chief Technologist at the Boeing Company. He was and still is affiliated with the Dept. of EECS at UC, Irvine at the capacity of Adjunct Professor. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 1997.
Mr. Amr Albanna, President and Co-Founder of CellOnyx, has been working in the cellular and telecommunications industries in his 20-year career. Most recently, he was the VP of Engineering of Omega Wireless, focusing on in-building solutions in major venues and stadiums such as the Super Bowl 2015 stadium. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Dept. of EECS at UC, Irvine.
Mr. Brian Jones, Business Advisory Board member of CellOnyx, is a former senior executive of AirTouch Cellular, Pacific Telesis, AT&T, Bell Canada, and Saudi Telecom. He is an experienced board member of a number of start-ups with experience in building strong leadership teams, international business and mergers and acquisitions. Brian has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, London Ontario, Canada. He is a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Dr. Armond Hairapetian, Business Advisory Board member of CellOnyx, is the former co-founder and CEO of NewPort Communications where he led the effort in developing the world’s first OC-48 and OC-192 transceivers in CMOS, and the ultimate sale of the company to Broadcom in August 2000 for approximately $1.2 billion. Prior to founding NewPort, Armond held various senior level engineering positions at Rockwell Semiconductor, Sierra Semiconductor, and Siemens Pacesetter.
Mr. Ronald J. Buschur, Business Advisory Board member of CellOnyx, is the former CEO and Board Member of Powerwave Technologies and President & COO of Hitachi Metals Technology. He also held various senior leadership positions at Maxtor Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Alcoa Aluminum. He is the Co-Founder of Cloud Analytics and a member of the Board of Directors of NexVisionIX. Currently, he serves as an Executive and Board Advisor of Crowd Valley and Petrilla Technologies as well as an Advisor of Omega Wireless and Peak Industries.
